Obituary Pending
Roy D. Watson, 90, passed away on February 12, 2017 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Lunn’s Colonial Chapel with Brother Claude Hendricks and Brother Ron Barnard officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Waurika Cemetery in Waurika Oklahoma under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.

Roy was born February 1, 1927 to Willie and Martha (Bledsoe) Watson in Clarksville, Texas. He married his first wife, Doris Lorene Richardson on February 14, 1948. Roy was a builder and carpenter for most of his life. He owned his own business and also had worked for Trinity Flooring. He was experienced in all aspects of flooring installation from ceramic and vinyl flooring to carpeting.

Roy traveled throughout the states of Texas and Oklahoma. Wherever the work was, that is where he went. When Roy went to a job and was hired on, he may have been the last one hired but he was always the last to leave when the job was completed. His creed for a job whether big or small was, “Always leave the site looking better than when you walked in.”

Roy also had a career in real estate as a salesman for Roland and Dudley, Alpha Realtors and Chaparral Realtors. At one time he was also the Construction/Maintenance Supervisor for Wichita General Hospital.

Roy was a Mason and a member of the Rotary Club and the Carpenters Union. He was also a member of the Dean Baptist Church.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Harlan W. Watson, Benjamin G. Watson, Felix Joe Watson, W. Bob Watson. Sisters: Audrey Mae Cox, Eunice Rae; his first wife, Doris Lorene Richardson; his in laws, Buster, Wayne and Joyce Richardson; his daughter Doris Lanell Elam and grandson Kenny L. Reynolds Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Mae Farris and husband Tommy; and grandson Brian T. Farris; two great grandchildren, Kane Farris and Kaleigh Farris; sons-in-law, Kenny Reynolds and Tom Elam; three brothers-in-law, Junior Richardson, Dewey Richardson and Claudie Richardson; his second wife, Carrie Belle; stepsons; Greg James and wife Cindy, Bill James and wife Laura and step grandchildren, Mary Alice Bickings and husband Steven, Lindsey Tucker and husband Kyle and Ashley Villa and husband Chris.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening 6-7 PM, for visitation.
