Exie Lee Nicholas, 64, of Wichita Falls passed away October 6, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 11th at First Christian Church, 3701 Taft Boulevard, Wichita Falls. There will be a reception at the church for all who wish to attend following the services. A private burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery under the direction of Lunnís Colonial Funeral Home.
A visitation will be Tuesday, October 10, from 6-7 PM at Lunn's.
Exie was born October 22, 1952, in Durant, Oklahoma, to the late Felix and Nova Tidwell. She graduated with Valedictorian honors from Durant High School. She earned a bachelorís degree in math with a teaching certificate for secondary education from Southeastern State College. She started her teaching career at Wichita Falls High School in January 1972, shortly after turning 20 years old. She retired after 32 years at Wichita Falls High, then she returned to teaching at Bright Ideas Charter School for more than 10 years. Exie returned to her Savior, Jesus Christ, after a 6 and a half year battle with malignant peritoneal mesothelioma from long-term exposure to asbestos.
Along with her parents, Exie is preceded in death by three half-brothers; Bobby, Harrold, and Haskell Polson.
Exie is survived by her devoted, loving husband of nearly 43 years, Tony Nicholas of Wichita Falls; son, Roger Nicholas and wife Tina of Robinson, TX; daughter, Amy Churchill and husband Christopher of Wichita Falls; and granddaughters, Ashley and Haley; great-grandson, Landen.
Exie loved to collect Coca-Cola memorabilia, which was a passionate hobby of hers for 45 years. Exie requested that only casual wear be worn to her funeral services, especially flashing red and black for Wichita Falls High and Coca-Cola attire.
