Ruth Laberta Armstrong, 86, of Wichita Falls, died on Sunday, July 9, 2017.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at First Christian Church with Dr. David Hartman officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the church parlor.

A daughter of the late Hattie (Elmore) and Homer Nine Davidson, Ruth was born on April 11, 1931, in Elk City, Kansas. She and Ralph H. Armstrong, Jr. were married on September 1, 1948, in Henrietta, Texas. They were long-time members of First Christian Church of Wichita Falls. Following her retirement from First Wichita National Bank, Ruth worked as a travel agent for Spomer Travel Agency and later opened Armstrong Travel. She and Ralph enjoyed traveling in their RV visiting friends and family. Ruth dearly loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by four of her siblings and a son, Ralph H. (Sonny) Armstrong, III.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ralph H. Armstrong, Jr.; children; Mitchell Armstrong and wife, Cathy of Sachse, TX; Michael Armstrong and wife, Janis of Garland, TX; Mark Armstrong of Plano; and Ruth Ann Armstrong of Dallas; sisters, Louise Estep of Farmington, NM and Martha Jo Hase and husband, Richard of Denver, Co; grandchildren, Stacy Lyons and husband, Robert; Julie Yandell and husband, Travis; Michelle Nurmi and husband, Wayne; Melanie Hall and husband, Chris; Melissa Poston and husband, John; and Molly Oltmanns and husband, Steve; great-grandchildren, Abby Lyons, J.R. Lyons, Michael Lyons, Eva Yandell, Keegan Yandell, Aiden Yandell, William Nurmi, Madeline Nurmi, Jordan Hall, Kaley Oltmanns, Claire Oltmanns, Matthew Poston and Andrew Poston; and former daughter-in-law, Sheri Sutton of Wichita Falls.
