June 20, 1923 - April 25, 2018

Thomas B. Weaver, 94, formerly of Wichita Falls, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Mayfield officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Julia M. (Cooper) and Harold C. Weaver, Tom was born on June 30, 1923, in Larksville, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school in Pennsylvania, he served in the US Army in World War II and later retired as a Sergeant Major. The army brought him to Wichita Falls where he met his wife and started his family. He owned and operated Otto’s Grocery Store on Harrison Street and worked as a butcher for over 40 years. Tom, together with his wife, was a committed member of Lamar Baptist Church and a devout student of the Bible. He enjoyed bowling, caring for his bonsai plants, playing with his dogs, reading, walking, and then later in life rode his bicycle daily. Tom gave many hours and found great pleasure in volunteer service with various organizations.

Along with his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by his sister, Maureen Weaver, his daughter, June Marie Reeves, and his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Frances Ann Weaver.

He is survived by his daughter, Joan Ann Weaver Mayfield, of Dallas, Texas, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
