Arvie Dell Waldrop of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 83.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday May 14, 2018, at Lunnís Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Parkway in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 15, 2018, at Lunnís with Pastors Claude Hendricks and Ron Barnard of Heritage Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Arvie was born in Jacksboro, Texas, to Jack Ruel and Ora Mae Hudson Waldrop on November 23, 1934. The family later moved to Deming, New Mexico. He married Melba June Riley on December 14, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Arvie worked as a service technician for Lone Star Gas for 31 years. He loved to do woodworking, camping in his trailer, traveling with Agape Tours, and gardening. Arvie was a quiet man who loved his church, family and friends. He spent many hours helping others by building cabinets and other small projects.

Arvie is preceded in death by his father, Jack Waldrop; his mother Ora Waldrop; his step-mother Violet Waldrop; and his sister Clara Nell Kelley.

Arvie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Melba June Riley Waldrop; his son Dr. Ron Waldrop and wife Elizabeth of Leesburg, Virginia; and his son Jack Waldrop and wife Tina of Cleburne, Texas. He has 5 grandchildren: Aaron C. Waldrop of Cleburne, Texas; Allison and husband Ryan Allen of Cleburne, Texas; Hannah and husband Pat Schiebe of Nashville, Tennessee; Melissa and husband Larry Barker of Brusly, Louisiana; and Lauren Waldrop of Norfolk, Virginia; and 3 great grandsons, Nathaniel, Riley, and Oliver. He is also survived by three sisters: Linda Barger and husband, Larry of Fort Worth, Texas; Kay Cosby and husband Jerry of Fort Worth, Texas; and Marie Pate and husband, Walter of Midland, Texas.
