Geneva Clemencia Corona went to be with her Heavenly Father and the love of her life, Jacob, on Thursday, June 21, 2018, in Ada, Oklahoma.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Faith Baptist Church, Wichita Falls. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Shields officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
A daughter of the late Paula (Lopez) and Rejino Tamez, Geneva was born on June 1, 1930, in Bridgeport, Texas. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1947, graduating with honors from Wichita Falls High School. Geneva married Jacob Corona in 1951, a marriage that lasted fifty years. She was the textbook clerk for Wichita Falls Independent School District for twenty years. She and Jacob were founding congregational members of Faith Baptist Church from its inception. She loved her ladies Dorcas Sunday school group.
Geneva was a talented painter. She was also prolific at sewing, ceramics, needlepoint and cross-stitch. She was a member of the Red River Quilters Association, winning many awards. Geneva was a 28 year member of the Sunrise Opti-Mrs. For the last fourteen years Geneva lived with her daughter Sharon and her family in Ada, Oklahoma.
Along with her parents, Geneva was also preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Corona; brothers, Charlie, Reagan, Johnny and Ben; and sisters, Otila and Tommie.
She is survived by her son, Mark Corona and wife Susie of Irving, TX; daughters, Sharon Croy and husband Leonard of Ada, OK; and Michelle Allen and husband Pat of Herndon, VA; grandchildren, Shannon Corona-Mahan, Jacob Corona, Whitney Brady, Tyler Croy, Peyton Allen, and Keaton Allen; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Brady, Liam Brady, Phoenix Mahan and Apollo Mahan; sister-in-law, Joan Tamez; and many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Daniel Corona and wife, Lynn; and Moses Corona and wife, Audrey.
